Take photographs using different compositional guidelines. You must take AT LEAST 150 exposures, You are NOT allowed
to photograph people.
Purpose: Learn to recognize composition guidelines in photographs.
Learn to use compositional guidelines to place emphasis on subjects.
Learn to critique photography based on compositional guidelines.
Compositional Guidelines:
- Formal: The subject is centered and or /symmetrical (includes patterns)
- Golden Mean (or Rule of Thirds): Place the important subject elements on a 1/3 intersection point.
- Lines of Movement: Use lines within the frame to guide the viewer’s eye to important subject elements or through the frame of the image.
Product: A minimum of 150 exposures, un-cropped, un-altered shot in CR2 format. Six of these images (2 in each compositional guideline)
will be chosen to be perfected in photoshop and printed for class critique.
